Rediscover rest, on a Personal Sabbatical at Spirit House

Escape the commitments, schedules, and demands of life with five days and nights in peaceful seclusion. Imagine … uninterrupted time alone, for prayer, study, reading, writing, reflection, and renewal.

Spirit House is more than a rental cottage. It’s an exercise in renewal that begins with Sabbatical Coaching Sessions prior to and after your stay.  You’ll find the coaching sessions to be light and practical, as we help you prepare for an extended rest alone.  Coaching sessions are led by the staff of Warrior Faith Ministries, a ministry partner of Spirit Ranch.


About the Cottage:
Spirit House is a modern but intimate, one-bedroom country cottage that’s tucked away in the Escondido Canyon, just five miles north of downtown Lubbock, Texas, on the property of Spirit Ranch.  Surrounded by towering, 100-year-old elm trees, sprawling meadows, and the fountains in Blackwater Draw, you’ll rest and reflect in the company of grazing horses and strutting peacocks.

The 900 square-foot, furnished ranch house has a fully equipped kitchen and patio grill, a small study, and a large, shady deck overlooking the Blackwater Draw.  Prior to your stay, the pantry and refrigerator are fully stocked (in consultation with you) with a week’s supply of food. Fresh linens and towels are also provided for the week.  You need only bring clothes, toiletries, and a heart longing to rediscover rest.

Spirit House is currently only available for week-long, sabbatical stays and is open year-round.



Price:

A Spirit House Sabbatical is $1,000 (USD) and includes all coaching sessions and a week’s supply of food.
